Tim Walz’s China Connections Raise Red Flags as He Went There for His Honeymoon

Kamala Harris’s choice of Tim Walz as her Vice Presidential running mate is already turning into a real headache for the Democratic campaign. Walz, the governor of Minnesota, has a track record that would make any sane voter cringe.

Whether it’s pushing extreme progressive policies like putting tampons in boys’ bathrooms, standing by as rioters burned Minneapolis to the ground in 2020, or facing accusations of embellishing his National Guard service, Walz brings plenty of baggage to the table. But just when you thought the list couldn’t get any worse, his coziness with Communist China has started to raise some serious red flags.

Walz’s China Connection

From Fox News:
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is facing scrutiny from Republicans over what they say are pro-China remarks, including an interview in which the Democratic vice presidential nominee said he does not agree with the idea there needs to be an adversarial relationship with the communist government.

Walz worked briefly in China as a teacher, traveling to Guangdong in 1989 for a teach abroad program to teach English and American history. He later became a member of Congress and governor of Minnesota.

The Wall Street Journal, citing local media reports, reported that one trip to China doubled as his honeymoon in 1994, and he planned his wedding date to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the Tiananmen Square crackdown.

It’s almost laughable that Walz, who’s supposed to be the backup for Harris if she wins, is defending the idea of cozying up to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). This is the same regime that’s notorious for human rights abuses, cracking down on free speech, and, let’s not forget, the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic. But hey, Walz seems to think we can all just get along with the CCP, like they’re the friendly neighborhood grocery store instead of a totalitarian state that jails dissenters and suppresses its people.

Honeymoon in China? Seriously?

And let’s not even get started on the honeymoon. Who in their right mind picks China, of all places, as the spot to celebrate their marriage, especially when that date coincides with the anniversary of one of the darkest days in modern Chinese history—the Tiananmen Square massacre? Walz’s choice to commemorate his wedding on that date is tone-deaf at best, and at worst, it’s a clear sign of where his sympathies lie.

You’d think that after all these controversies, Harris’s campaign would be trying to distance itself from Walz. But no, they’re doubling down, lashing out at critics and insisting that Walz’s history with China is a non-issue. Yeah, because being chummy with a communist regime is exactly what American voters are looking for in a Vice President, right?

The CCP’s Favorite Candidate?

It’s almost as if Walz is auditioning for a job in Beijing instead of Washington, D.C. His pro-China stance is just one more reason to question his judgment, not to mention his loyalty to American values. If you’re running for one of the highest offices in the land, maybe, just maybe, you shouldn’t be soft on a country that’s actively working against U.S. interests on the global stage.

Harris’s Campaign Strategy: Deny, Deflect, Defend

Harris’s camp is now scrambling to defend Walz, but it’s a tough sell. Their strategy so far has been to attack anyone who dares to question Walz’s background, labeling them as liars or right-wing extremists.

But when the facts are this damning, it’s hard to hide behind name-calling. The American people deserve to know the truth about who’s running for office, and no amount of spin from Harris’s team is going to change the fact that Walz’s ties to China are deeply concerning.

Harris is no stranger to controversies herself, and her choice of Walz only adds fuel to the fire. The fact that she’s willing to overlook Walz’s questionable connections in favor of pushing her progressive agenda speaks volumes about her priorities. And let’s not forget, this is the same Kamala Harris who’s been AWOL on major issues like the border crisis, all while trying to sell herself as a champion of American values.

The bottom line is this: Harris and Walz are trying to sell the American people a bill of goods, but the more we learn about their backgrounds, the clearer it becomes that they’re not the right choice to lead this country.

We need leaders who will stand up to the CCP, not cozy up to them. And we need leaders who understand that putting America first means more than just paying lip service to our values—it means living them out every day.

Key Takeaways:

  • Tim Walz’s cozy relationship with China raises serious questions about his judgment and loyalty to American values.
  • Harris’s campaign is defending Walz despite his controversial history, showing their commitment to pushing a progressive agenda.
  • Voters should be wary of a ticket that’s willing to overlook such blatant red flags in the name of political expediency.
