Trump Says He’ll Win in 1 Critical State – And It Hasn’t Seen a GOP Win in Decades

Former President Donal Trump faced an uphill battle once he announced his campaign to regain the White House in 2024. From legal battles to never-ending media attacks, Trump beat back the attackers to win build momentum and win big in Super Tuesday primaries.

Trump doesn’t plan on stopping there, and no GOP candidate stands in his way. What he plans to do is keep building momentum into November and win in areas not conquered by Republicans in decades.

Key states that for years have been a lock for Democrats in presidential elections now appear to be in play for Trump. He plans to go all-in for one big win that would send shock waves through the Democratic Party.

From the Daily Caller:
“I think Virginia — we have that down now as a place we are really going to go after. And I know the polls are very close to being even. And we are, we are going to make a very heavy play for Virginia,” Trump said.

“I think I could’ve won Virginia previously, but now if you look at it, people are miserable there,” Trump said. “They are unhappy. The migrants are pouring into your cities and your areas and every place all over Virginia. It’s a much different place than it was.”

Trump said the negative changes under the Biden administration the last few years have pushed Virginians to the brink in places. The country is a much different place, he said, after Biden’s failed immigration policies and inflation that has decimated the middle class.

These factors position Trump’s campaign differently than his last presidential election run, and he believes he can pull off a victory against Biden in Virginia. Despite recent polls showing Trump moving higher against Biden, history isn’t on his side.

No Republican has won Virginia in a presidential election since former President George W. Bush in 2004. Biden beat Trump in 2020 in Virginia 54.1% to 44% and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton beat Trump in Virginia in 2016, 49.8% to 44.4%.

Trump leads Biden in most hypothetical matches to this point and is ahead in polls in swing states such as Arizona, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, and Florida. Some polls have him leading by double digits in these key battlegrounds.

Winning Virginia could create a path to regaining the White House for Trump this November which is rapidly approaching.

“We have a lot of things going on in Virginia,” Trump said. “It’s an incredible state. And I think it is ready to go Republican. They cannot stand the incompetence of watching what they’re doing right now and putting up with it.”

Key Takeaways:

  • Trump claimed with confidence that Virginia is “ready to go Republican” in the fall.
  • He made the call before his sweeping primary victories during Super Tuesday voting.
  • GOP front runner Trump made plans to flip Virginia Red for the first time in decades.
