Joe Biden has faced off against fact-checkers repeatedly during his presidency and been proven wrong. Even before his false claims of a secure border, no inflation, and a fantastic economy, he was spewing “facts” that turned out false.
What kept Biden from being exposed for his legacy of falsehoods was his trove of loyalists and a liberal mainstream media. They have all worked in unison to protect him no matter how long his nose grew, like in the fairy tale.
Biden was fact-checked once again based on his repeated claim about then-President Donald Trump allegedly speaking in support of neo-Nazis in 2017. A recent report debunked Biden’s false claim, and Trump’s campaign is up in arms.

Left-leaning fact-checking website Snopes published a piece Saturday debunking claims promoted by President Biden and some members of the media that following the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017, Trump called neo-Nazis “very fine people.” Biden has repeatedly cited the false claim, even saying it was the impetus for his 2020 White House run against Trump.“The Charlottesville lie was another hoax perpetuated by the corrupt Democrats and their mouthpieces in the fake news media, just like the Hunter Biden laptop, the Russian collusion scandal and so many others, all in an attempt to smear President Trump. Joe Biden’s campaign must end any advertising that pushes this lie because President Trump has, once again, been proven right,” Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.
This is a surprising development with the first presidential debate between the presumptive candidates in just a couple of days. Snopes made it clear in its fact-check that Trump did not call neo-Nazis “fine people” 7 years ago when speaking at a press conference that year. But they refused to admit this until years after it impacted countless news cycles and a presidential election.
“While Trump did say that there were ‘very fine people on both sides,’ he also specifically noted that he was not talking about neo-Nazis and White supremacists and said they should be ‘condemned totally.’ Therefore, we have rated this claim ‘False,'” Snopes wrote.
The report exposed the lies of Democrats and Biden, and validated Trump’s position that his remarks were taken out of context and promoted across social media and in the news by leftists and members of the media. Trump’s comments were in response to protests in Charlottesville in 2017 where White nationalists clashed with counter-protesters. There were three deaths and dozens of injuries.
Liberals and conservatives agreed that the protests were a hateful display of bigotry, including Trump at the time. He issued a statement that such protests and violence have “no place in America.” But that message wasn’t promoted by Democrats and their mouthpieces in the media.
Biden took advantage of the anti-Trump barrage and framed Trump’s response as his reason for running for the White House.
“With those words, the president of the United States assigned a moral equivalence between those spreading hate and those with the courage to stand against it,” Biden said in 2019 when announcing his candidacy.
Let’s hope Snopes stands by its report and continues to counteract Biden’s lies as the first debate takes place.
