Trump Alleges Biden’s Border Material Sale Is “Possibly Criminal” in Legal Filing

Border Patrol agents have watched for months as trucks slip away under cover of darkness from the southern border, loaded with materials that were meant to protect American communities.

The cargo? Millions of dollars worth of steel border wall sections that taxpayers already paid for once – and may soon have to purchase again at double the price.

If this sounds like a bad dream to you, imagine how the American taxpayer feels about footing this bill twice.

“The Biden administration is now moving the wall in the dead of night,” a Border Patrol source told investigators. “But we are always watching.”

What started as scattered reports of border wall materials being auctioned off has exploded into what critics call a systematic attempt to dismantle border security infrastructure before President-elect Trump returns to office in January. New footage obtained this week shows truck after truck hauling away massive steel wall sections from Arizona staging areas, even as legal challenges mount.

Trump Acts to Stop the Madness

In a dramatic development Thursday, Trump filed an amicus brief supporting Texas and Missouri’s legal effort to immediately halt what he termed a “possibly criminal” fire sale of critical border security materials. The filing argues that Biden administration officials may be “deliberately selling off border-wall materials at a major financial loss to the Government to obstruct the pro-wall policy of Congress and President Trump.”

The scale of the selloff is staggering. Border Patrol sources estimate that approximately half a mile worth of wall materials are being transported away each day, with contractors working to clear out supplies before Christmas. The materials, which cost taxpayers millions to manufacture and transport to the border, are reportedly being auctioned for pennies on the dollar through government surplus sites.

“It’s very expensive, and now it’s about double the price of what it would have been six years ago, and the administration is trying to sell it for five cents on the dollar, knowing that we’re getting ready to put it up,” Trump said earlier this week from Mar-a-Lago.

The Department of Defense claims it has authority to auction the materials under the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act. However, Senate Republicans who wrote the legislation say it actually requires the federal government to deploy the materials or transfer them to state governments for wall construction – not sell them off to private buyers.

Texas officials aren’t waiting for the legal battles to play out. Lt. Governor Dan Patrick announced that Texas is evaluating purchases of any salvageable materials, with plans to preserve them for Trump’s administration. “If they sell any panels that make economic sense, we will buy them and give them to President Trump when he takes office,” Patrick stated.

They’re Not Getting Away With It

And here’s where it gets really interesting…

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) warned that officials involved in the sales could face serious consequences: “To every official at the Department of Homeland Security, or anywhere else, who approves selling off incredibly expensive portions of the border wall for $5 a piece, you are engaged in theft of government property and you should expect the Department of Justice to investigate you and prosecute you.”

The fire sale comes as illegal border crossings have reached historic highs, with Border Patrol facilities overwhelmed by the surge. Critics argue that dismantling existing border security infrastructure while facing a crisis represents either stunning incompetence or deliberate sabotage.

“What can be done is to be able to pull all the records that right now are being held by DoD, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and by DHS, to get all the records of how this happened, what happened, and to be able to expose the actors there that were trying to prevent the construction of the border wall,” said Senator James Lankford (R-OK).

Let that sink in for a moment – American taxpayers are watching their investment literally drive away in the dead of night. For American taxpayers, the ultimate cost of this selloff could be astronomical. As Trump noted, replacing these materials will likely require paying double the original price due to inflation and increased materials costs. The rushed liquidation of critical infrastructure – carried out quite literally in the dead of night – may end up being one of the most expensive examples of political obstruction in recent memory.

As the legal challenges proceed and trucks continue rolling away from the border, one thing is clear: rebuilding America’s border security won’t just require political will – it will require American taxpayers to pay twice for the same protection.

The only question remaining is whether the courts can stop this midnight fire sale before the last pieces of the wall are scattered to the winds.

Key Takeaways:

  • Biden administration rushing to sell border wall materials at 95% discount before Trump’s return.
  • Taxpayers will be forced to pay double to replace materials due to inflation.
  • Texas officials moving to purchase and preserve materials for Trump administratio.n
  • Legal experts warn DOJ investigations likely for officials involved in “possibly criminal” sal.es
