Trump Sets New Record In Partnering with Allies in Latin America

Democrats have long insisted that Trump’s “America First” policy would leave our nation isolated and friendless. Every liberal pundit and their politically-correct cousin predicted diplomatic catastrophe if Trump returned to office. “He’ll destroy our international relationships!” they screeched from their ivory towers and cable news studios.

Well, as usual, the left’s predictions about Trump have aged like milk on asphalt in the August sun. While they’re busy spinning narratives about “democratic backsliding” and “global embarrassment,” the Trump administration has been methodically executing the most robust diplomatic outreach to Latin America in decades. The media elites won’t tell you this, but Trump’s team is setting records for strategic partnerships that directly benefit American security and prosperity.

From ‘The Hill’:

“For all the talk of President Trump turning America inward, this is certainly not true when it comes to Latin America. U.S. presence and partnerships to the south are being strengthened by visits from top ranking officials from the State Department, Homeland Security, the Department of Agriculture, the Southern Command, among others.”

Sorry China, America’s Back in Town

While the previous administration was busy apologizing for American greatness, Secretary of State Marco Rubio hit the ground running with a bold, strategic approach. For the first time in American history, a Secretary of State began his term by touring Latin America rather than the usual European or Asian capitals. This wasn’t just for show – it delivered immediate, tangible results.

During Rubio’s visit to Panama, the Central American nation made the unprecedented decision to withdraw from China’s Belt and Road Initiative. This marks the first time any country has stepped away from Beijing’s debt-trap diplomacy scheme.

Even more impressive, American company BlackRock struck a deal to purchase 90 percent of Panama Ports Company, taking control of the strategic Balboa and San Cristobal ports that connect the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. These facilities had been under Chinese control for two decades through Hong Kong-based CK Hutchinson. American businesses are reclaiming strategic assets while strengthening our hemisphere’s security.

Criminals Beware: Team Trump Is Building a Security Wall

President Trump promised to protect Americans from criminal gangs, and he’s delivering through smart partnerships across the region. During Secretary Noem’s recent visits to El Salvador, Colombia, and Mexico, she secured unprecedented cooperation on border security and transnational crime.

El Salvador’s President Bukele – a no-nonsense leader the liberal media loves to call “authoritarian” when he locks up gang members – offered to receive and imprison criminals from MS-13, Tren de Aragua, and Mexican cartels deported from the United States. This is what actual border security looks like, Americans.

The administration signed a groundbreaking biometric data-sharing agreement with Colombia that has already led to over 1,700 deportations and 1,000 arrests. Meanwhile, Mexico has deployed 10,000 soldiers to their northern border and accepted deportation flights carrying migrants of various nationalities.

While Democrats were busy fighting to keep criminal aliens in American communities, the Trump administration was building an international network to remove them and keep them out. That’s the America First approach in action.

Oil, Security, and Saying ‘No’ to Dictators

Perhaps the most strategic move has been the administration’s robust support for Guyana, which is rapidly becoming a major energy producer. Secretary Rubio recently visited the South American nation to reaffirm America’s commitment to its security amid threats from Venezuela’s socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro.

“Guyana is poised to become the world’s largest oil producer on a per capita basis, surpassing Qatar and Kuwait,” reports indicate, with projections of 1.3 million barrels per day by decade’s end. While the previous administration empowered Venezuela through sanctions relief, Trump is strengthening partnerships with democratic energy producers that can help America and our allies reduce dependence on hostile regimes.

The U.S. Navy cruiser USS Normandy recently conducted joint exercises with Guyana’s patrol vessels in international waters near the disputed Essequibo region, which contains massive oil reserves that Venezuela’s Maduro regime is trying to illegally claim. China expressed irritation at America’s growing influence – a clear sign we’re doing something right.

Similar security partnerships are being formed with Argentina, Peru, and other nations that share our interest in regional stability and prosperity. Under Trump’s leadership, America is reclaiming its rightful role as the partner of choice throughout the Western Hemisphere.

These diplomatic victories aren’t just abstract foreign policy wins – they translate directly into safer communities, more economic opportunities, and greater energy security for everyday Americans. While the media focuses on theatrics, President Trump is delivering results that strengthen our nation both at home and abroad.

Key Takeaways:

  • The Trump administration has prioritized Latin America in its diplomatic strategy,
  • Panama withdrew from China’s Belt and Road Initiative and American companies are regaining control of strategic assets.
  • Unprecedented security partnerships with El Salvador, Colombia, and Mexico are enhancing border security.
