It’s been over two weeks since Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential election. Much to the dismay of Democrats everywhere, Trump trounced their beloved Kamala Harris not only in the Electoral College, but also in the popular vote.
Liberals have been melting down ever since over the realization that Trump will be president for the next four years. Meanwhile, Trump himself has been hard at work putting his administration together.
On Tuesday, Trump announced that he will be nominating Dr. Mehmet Oz to serve as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator when he takes office in January. Trump’s reasoning behind this makes it clear that Oz is the perfect person for the role.
From Fox News:
“America is facing a Healthcare Crisis, and there may be no Physician more qualified and capable than Dr. Oz to Make America Healthy Again,” Trump said in a statement posted on Truth Social. “He is an eminent Physician, Heart Surgeon, Inventor, and World-Class Communicator, who has been at the forefront of healthy living for decades.”Trump wrote that he plans for Dr. Oz to “work closely” with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who the president-elect appointed to run the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Trump wrote that Oz and Kennedy will “take on the illness industrial complex, and all the horrible chronic diseases left in its wake.”
“Our broken Healthcare System harms everyday Americans, and crushes our Country’s budget,” the statement read. “Dr. Oz will be a leader in incentivizing Disease Prevention, so we get the best results in the World for every dollar we spend on Healthcare in our Great Country.”
The CMS is part of the HHS. The CMS controls various programs like Medicare and Medicaid. The agency’s official website explains that it “works in partnership with the entire health care community to improve quality, equity and outcomes in the health care system.”
Trump went on to say that in this role, Oz “will also cut waste and fraud within our Country’s most expensive Government Agency, which is a third of our Nation’s Healthcare spend[ing], and a quarter of our entire National Budget.”
Oz’s History
Oz holds an MD from the University of Pennsylvania, which is Trump’s alma mater. He ran for Senate in Pennsylvania as a Republican back in 2022. Sadly, Oz lost that race to Democrat John Fetterman.
Prior to entering politics, Oz was a television personality who got his start with appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show. He went on to host The Dr. Oz Show from 2009 until 2022.
Trump added that throughout his television career, Oz “taught millions of Americans how to make healthier lifestyle choices, and gave a strong voice to the key pillars of the MAHA [Make America Healthy Again] Movement.”
“I have known Dr. Oz for many years, and I am confident he will fight to ensure everyone in America receives the best possible Healthcare, so our Country can be Great and Healthy Again!” Trump concluded.
Liberals brutally turned on Oz after he dared to run for Senate as a Republican. They can kick and scream all that they want to, but it’s clear that he really is the perfect person for the role that Trump has tapped him for.
In the end, this is all part of Trump’s mission to make America great again. While he’s at it, he’s making America healthy again too!
