Radical Democrat in Hot Seat Again After Physically Attacking D.C. Cameraman

Since taking office, liberal Rep. Jasmine Crockett has built quite the “impressive” resume – though not one that would impress voters. She’s fervently defended illegal immigration, threatened Senator Ted Cruz, and even stooped to calling Texas Governor Greg Abbott “Governor Hot Wheels” – a disgraceful reference to his disability.

But if anyone had lingering doubts about Crockett’s character (or lack thereof), those doubts evaporated faster than common sense at a Democratic policy meeting when video emerged of her physically attacking a reporter who dared to ask her a question. Because nothing says “I respect democratic institutions” quite like assaulting the press.

When ‘Public Servant’ Becomes ‘Public Menace’

On Tuesday morning, Rep. Crockett was caught on camera grabbing at a reporter’s phone when he attempted to ask her about her involvement with a group organizing protests against Tesla. Charles Downs, a reporter for Loomer Unleashed, was simply doing his job in the Rayburn House Office Building when Crockett decided that the First Amendment was more of a suggestion than a constitutional right.

From ‘The Post Millennial’:
“Rep. Crockett’s reaction to my question about her involvement in the ‘Tesla Takedown’ is, to say the least, disturbing. No member of Congress, Republican or Democrat, should grab at someone’s camera simply because they’re being asked a question they apparently don’t approve of.”

The video, which has since gone viral, clearly shows Crockett reaching for Downs’s phone with her left hand when he began asking about her participation in a “Tesla Takedown” call. Downs later filed a police report alleging assault, battery, and attempted theft – charges that could have serious consequences if pursued. But will they be? When was the last time a Democratic representative faced actual consequences for their actions?

Following the Money: ActBlue to Tesla Takedown

So what exactly was Crockett trying to hide with her impromptu audition for “Politicians Gone Wild”? Turns out, the reporter was asking about comments she made during a March 19 “call to action” meeting organized by Tesla Takedown, a coalition reportedly funded by ActBlue. During that call, Crockett stated, “All I want to see happen on my birthday is for Elon to be taken down.”

This isn’t just idle chatter. Attorney General Pam Bondi has been investigating violent attacks on Tesla showrooms as “domestic terrorism,” with suspects facing up to 20 years in prison. When a sitting congresswoman is encouraging actions against a company whose properties are being targeted with violence, that’s newsworthy – and certainly worth asking about. Is it too much to expect our elected officials to answer for their own words?

The Silence is Deafening

Notice how quiet Democratic leadership has been about this incident? You can practically hear the crickets chirping. Just imagine, for a moment, if the parties were reversed. If a Republican congressman had physically attacked a reporter asking about controversial comments, CNN would be running 24/7 coverage, and there would already be calls for resignation, censure, or worse.

Crockett’s office released a statement claiming the reporter was trying to “invade Congresswoman Crockett’s personal safety for a soundbite.” Apparently, in Democrat-speak, asking an elected official a question about their public statements now constitutes an “invasion of personal safety.” That’s quite the convenient reframing of a physical altercation that was, inconveniently for Crockett, caught on video.

The Democratic Leadership Vacuum

What’s perhaps most troubling is what this incident reveals about the Democrats’ standards for their own representatives. Is this really the caliber of “leader” they want representing their party? Someone who resorts to physical aggression when faced with uncomfortable questions? Someone who can’t maintain basic professionalism in a public setting?

By now, any representative with this track record should have faced censure motions or ethics investigations, at minimum. Instead, Democratic leadership continues to circle the wagons, protecting their own regardless of behavior. It’s a stark reminder that for today’s Democratic Party, tribal loyalty trumps basic standards of conduct every time.

The American people deserve better from their elected officials. They deserve representatives who can answer tough questions without resorting to physical altercations. They deserve leaders who understand that accountability and transparency aren’t optional in a democracy – they’re essential. And they deserve party leadership that enforces standards of conduct rather than ignoring them when politically inconvenient.

Key Takeaways:

  • Rep. Jasmine Crockett physically attacked a reporter who asked about her involvement with the Tesla Takedown.
  • Despite clear video evidence of the assault, Democratic leadership has remained silent.
  • This incident is part of a pattern of unprofessional and inappropriate behavior from Crockett.
