Few people in the mainstream media have been more anti-Donald Trump than Morning Joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. Indeed, for much of the past decade, they have been obsessively attacking Trump on a daily basis on their MSNBC morning show.
That’s why it came as a massive shock to their viewers when Scarborough and Brzezinski revealed that they went to Mar-a-Lago to meet with Trump on Friday. During this meeting, they talked about a variety of issues, including “abortion, mass deportation and threats of political retribution against political opponents and media outlets.”
On the most recent episode of Nikki Haley’s SiriusXM program “Nikki Haley Live,” the former United Nations Ambassador revealed the real reason that she thinks Scarborough and Brzezinski were so eager to meet with Trump. If her reasoning is correct, it could be an indicator that a major change may be coming in how the media treats Trump.

“Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough tore me up when I said anything about voting for Donald Trump or what I agreed with him on, even though I criticized him when I thought he was wrong. I praised him when I thought he was good. They tore me up.”“But the truth is, it’s not that they suddenly saw the light. It’s that they saw the ratings,” Haley said. “I mean, let’s be clear. They saw the ratings tank and they realized, ‘Oh, we better get on with Donald Trump, or else we’re not going to have a show.’”
Haley’s guest Charlamagne tha God was quick to agree with her.
“Yeah. It’s a ratings and revenue game,” he said in response. “What I don’t understand is, if you don’t like something that somebody’s saying, if you don’t like something that somebody’s doing, why not go talk to that person about it and challenge them right then and there? Like, that’s why I think the biggest issue is.”

Wakeup Call For The Mainstream Media
Indeed, Trump’s victory should serve as a huge wakeup call for Scarborough, Brzezinski, and the rest of the mainstream media. They spent months pushing the false narrative that Harris was such an overqualified candidate that there was no way she could lose to Trump.
In fact, the mainstream media pushed this narrative so hard that their loyal liberal viewers were left flabbergasted by the election results. Contrary to what Scarborough and Brzezinski told them would happen, Trump trounced Harris in both the Electoral College and the popular vote. Go figure!
Clearly, Trump’s decisive victory showed Scarborough and Brzezinski just how irrelevant they will soon become in the media landscape if they don’t at least give Trump a chance. With their votes, the American people have shown the liberals at MSNBC that they simply aren’t buying into the narrative that Trump is the modern-day Hitler. Enough with the relentless over-the-line attacks on Trump and his millions of supporters.
Regardless of their reasoning, it was still delicious to see two desperate Never Trumpers like Scarborough and Brzezinski go meet with Trump with their tails between their legs. If more members of the media want to save their ratings, they might want to consider doing the same thing!
