Americans are stunned at the latest developments in the Trump case in Manhattan. It’s stunning that it ever went to trial after the feds passed it up, but the wheels are starting to come off this circus.
It is extremely difficult to even explain how Trump can be charged with dozens of felonies in a New York court over federal business law, but somehow it is harder to explain how antagonistic the judge and prosecution has been towards the former President, who is supposed to be treated as innocent until proven guilty.
As the case began, the judge slapped Trump—the defendant—with a gag order as Michael Cohen was allowed to say anything he wanted and fundraise online. Trump was fined thousands of dollars for saying anything about the case, even though he is the presumptive 2024 Republican nominee. And now the judge is going to an entirely different level of attack against Trump.

Former President Trump said he’d make the “sacrifice” of going to jail to defend free speech amid his trial in Manhattan where the 45th president is under a gag order that he has slammed as “unconstitutional.”
“I have to watch every word I tell you people. You ask me a question, a simple question I’d like to give it, but I can’t talk about it because this judge has given me a gag order and [says] you’ll go to jail if you violate it,” Trump said in remarks outside the courtroom Monday afternoon.
“And frankly, you know what? Our Constitution is much more important than jail. It’s not even close. I’ll do that sacrifice any day.”
Unfortunately for the judge and the Democrats rooting him on, they pulled the shortest straw in the pack. Every day this messy, public trial drags on, the more Donald’s polling numbers rise.
Why is that? Because it is becoming clearer, day by day, that Trump is being politically prosecuted. How else can you explain something that happened two election cycles ago finally appearing in the courts only months before his re-election?
And against a man who can’t even read a teleprompter and shuffles around like a Roomba. It’s perfectly obvious to anyone with common sense: these charges are being thrown at Donald to slander him and keep him off the trail.
And Donald might love nothing more than to spend some time behind bars for exercising his Constitutional right to defend himself and speak freely. Because then people will know, without a shadow of a doubt, that his opponents are trying to rig the game.
