Joe Biden sent shockwaves across the country when he pardoned his son Hunter. This was particularly surprising, given the fact that Joe had claimed for years that he would not be pardoning Hunter in his gun and tax cases.

Indeed, Joe was saying that he wouldn’t pardon Hunter as recently as June. Despite this, however, that’s exactly what the outgoing president did.

Now, new details about Hunter’s pardon have come to light. These developments show just how crooked and corrupt Joe has always been.

Presidents have pardoned family members in the past. In 2001, Bill Clinton issued clemency for his brother Roger’s 1985 drug conviction. Hunter Biden’s “full and unconditional” pardon was particularly broad, however. It covers his criminal convictions, as well as any future charges for “offenses against the United States” from the start of 2014 to this Sunday.

That time period includes two years that Hunter Biden served on the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma and was involved in other international dealings while his father served as vice-president. Republicans have alleged that Hunter Biden had improperly benefitted from his father’s position of power and that the elder Biden had been connected to his son’s business dealings.

Joe’s pardon for Hunter applies to any crime that he “has committed or may have committed” from January 1, 2014, to December 1, 2024. Over the years, Joe repeatedly denied that he would pardon Hunter for his gun and tax evasion convictions. He also pledged not to commute a prison sentence for Hunter that was shaping up to be quite substantial.

Joe Changes His Mind

On Sunday night, however, Joe proudly announced that he had changed his mind.

“There has been an effort to break Hunter – who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution,” Joe said as he explained his decision. “In trying to break Hunter, they’ve tried to break me – and there’s no reason to believe it will stop here. Enough is enough.”

Democrats had spent years trying to portray Joe as an honest, grandfatherly figure. So much for that!

This pardon just goes to show that Joe has been a sleazy and corrupt career politician all along. Joe has famously frequently said that “no one is above the law” when it comes to the cases against President-Elect Donald Trump. With this pardon, however, Joe is showing that the Biden family is, in fact, above the law.

It doesn’t get much more hypocritical than that, folks!

Even many Democrats are furious at Joe over the Hunter Biden pardon. Colorado’s Democrat Governor Jared Polis fired back by saying that he is “disappointed” in Joe for doing something that will “tarnish” his legacy.

“When you become President, your role is Pater familias of the nation,” Polis lamented. “Hunter brought the legal trouble he faced on himself, and one can sympathize with his struggles while also acknowledging that no one is above the law, not a President and not a President’s son.”

Pardoning his criminal son on the way out the door will only cement Joe as one of the worst presidents of all time. In the end, we can’t get this clown out of the White House soon enough!
