Based on the latest polls, Donald Trump is dominating the GOP primaries.
But we’re still months away from the first primary elections, and much can happen over the summer and fall. Trump might be leading now, but he still had a big job ahead of him.
Trump needs to recapture the states he lost in 2020; even commonly red states fell to Joe Biden last time, in a shocking upset for Republicans. Now, one particular Republican governor is issuing Trump a serious warning:
If Donald really wants to win this state in 2024, he has to do just one thing. But it might not be something Trump is willing to do…
Governor Brian Kemp (R-GA) said Monday on CNN’s ‘The Source’ that former President Donald Trump can lose the state of Georgia in the 2024 presidential election if he keeps talking about alleged voter fraud in the 2020 election…
‘Well, I think [Trump can win] because Joe Biden’s been such a bad president… I also think he can lose Georgia if he’s not doing what I said – telling people what he’s for, staying focused on the race, quit looking back at the 2020 election.’
Gov. Brian Kemp, who has had a long-standing feud with Donald Trump, warned the former president to avoid talking about the 2020 election. He even said that he might lose Georgia, again, if he keeps saying the last election was rigged.
Trump maintains that he won the 2020, but that Democrats across numerous states committed unprecedented fraud to steal the election.
In reality, Trump appeared to be the winner on Election Night. But thanks to last-minute changes to laws and the use of mail-in ballots in some states, Joe Biden garnered enough votes to erase Trump’s lead.
It is unlikely that Trump will ever concede the 2020 Election, and most of his supporters strongly agree that the election was stolen. But he might do well to heed Kemp’s advice and run on his accomplishments and hammering Biden’s failures.
Will Trump do that? He’s not one to follow the advice of someone he hates. So, I guess we’ll see.
- Kemp of Georgia warned Trump not to focus on the 2020 Election.
- He warned that Trump could lose Georgia if he continued to claim the election was stolen.
- Kemp instead urged Trump to focus on his successes and highlight Biden’s failures.
