D.C. Waitress Refused to Serve Trump Staff, Quickly Gets Fired by Restaurant

The growing hostility toward conservatives at the hands of liberals has become impossible to ignore. Manhattan bistros turn away Republican donors. San Francisco cafes posting “No Conservatives Welcome” signs.

It appears Trump supporters increasingly face the prospect of being denied service simply for their political beliefs. While liberals preach endlessly about tolerance and inclusion, their actions tell a very different story.

This disturbing trend of political discrimination was highlighted once again in our nation’s capital, where the mask of “progressive tolerance” slipped to reveal the true face of liberal bigotry.

Just blocks from where Congress meets, at a popular Capitol Hill establishment, one server’s shocking admission exposed exactly how the left really treats those who don’t share their political views.

In a December 11 interview with Washingtonian magazine, Suzannah Van Rooy, a waitress at Beuchert’s Saloon in Washington DC, proudly declared that she would “refuse to serve any person in the office who I know of as being a sex trafficker or trying to deport millions of people.”

A thinly veiled reference to Trump administration officials and their immigration enforcement policies. Her statement encapsulated perfectly the left’s tendency to demonize political opponents through baseless accusations and moral grandstanding.

From The Post Millennial:
A Washington DC restaurant has fired a waitress after she stated she would refuse to serve individuals associated with President-elect Donald Trump’s administration.

Suzannah Van Rooy, who worked at Beuchert’s Saloon on Capitol Hill, made the comments in an interview with Washingtonian. Van Rooy said that she would “refuse to serve any person in office who I know of as being a sex trafficker or trying to deport millions of people.”

Waitress Gets a Wake-Up Call

Within 48 hours, the restaurant’s ownership took decisive action. In a move that should serve as an example to businesses nationwide, Beuchert’s Saloon terminated Van Rooy’s employment.

It also issued a blistering statement condemning her discriminatory stance.

“Recent comments made by a member of staff who had no authority to speak on behalf of our entire restaurant have been, quite rightly, flagged as inappropriate, hostile, intolerant, and unacceptable,” the restaurant declared on December 13, demonstrating that some businesses still understand the importance of serving all Americans regardless of political affiliation.

Worse Than We Thought

But the story doesn’t end there. In a revealing twist that further exposed the activist mindset behind such discrimination, it emerged that Van Rooy had previously worked as an organizer for Beto O’Rourke’s failed gubernatorial campaign.

Even more troubling, she took it upon herself to commandeer the restaurant’s social media accounts without authorization, posting what the establishment described as “wildly offensive responses” to comments during the night of December 14.

The restaurant’s December 15 follow-up statement pulled no punches: “Our staff and families are still reeling from what Ms. Van Rooy said and did, and we as a restaurant are simply horrified to be associated with base prejudice.”

This forthright condemnation stands in stark contrast to the tepid responses often seen from businesses facing similar situations.

A Long History of Liberal Bigotry

This incident bears striking similarities to the 2018 controversy when former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was infamously expelled from the Red Hen restaurant in Virginia.

The difference this time? A business chose to stand firmly against such politically motivated discrimination rather than embrace it.

Beuchert’s Saloon’s principled stance sends a clear message: Americans expect and deserve better than politically motivated service discrimination.

As the establishment noted, they have proudly served members of four different presidential administrations as a neighborhood restaurant on Capitol Hill.

It has maintained a status as “a safe space for all” – words that actually mean something when backed by action rather than selective progressive ideology.

The lesson here is clear: while some on the left continue their campaign of political intimidation and discrimination, there are still businesses and Americans who understand that true tolerance means serving everyone, regardless of political beliefs.

In the end, Van Rooy’s attempt to virtue signal her political resistance resulted only in her own unemployment – a fitting reminder that actions have consequences, even in deep-blue Washington DC.

Perhaps other would-be discriminators will take note: America works best when we serve all Americans, not just those who share our political views.

Key Takeaways:

  • Liberal discrimination against conservatives continues to backfire as businesses stand firm against political bias.
  • A D.C. waitress was exposed trying to weaponize service industry against Trump supporters.
  • Private business demonstrates true meaning of “serving all Americans” by rejecting employee’s political activism.
  • Swift consequences prove market still rewards fairness over virtue signaling.
