The war in Israel continues to rage long after the horrific events of October 7, 2023. Israel has vowed to root out terror group Hamas, who is using Palestinian settlements and people as shields. Gaza is a war zone, thanks to the unacceptable actions of Hamas.
Progressives across the country have blamed Israel for the conflict. They have ignored the events of October 7 and accuse Israel of “genocide.”
This is a big problem for Joe Biden, who is losing support from progressives just before the election. It seems his advisers are starting to side with the radical left. To salvage support from this group, Biden just announced an unthinkable move to aid Israel’s enemies.

Biden on Thursday announced [that] the US military will begin establishing a port in the [Gaza] that could receive large shipments of critically needed food and medical supplies.“A temporary pier would enable a massive increase in the amount of humanitarian assistance getting into Gaza every day,” Biden said during his address on Thursday. “And Israel must also do its part. Israel must allow more aid into Gaza and ensure that humanitarian workers aren’t caught in the cross fire.”
Biden announced he was sending troops into Gaza to build a port. He claimed this port will send food and medical supplies to Palestinians. While announcing this he echoed comments by Kamala Harris, who accused Israel of not “doing enough” to help a group posed against them.
What Biden failed to explain was that Gaza already receives aid from Israel, the U.S., the UN, and other groups. But aid meant to help civilians is seized by Hamas (which runs the government) and used to secure weapons against Israel.
Progressives, including the Biden administration, have accused Israel of not supplying aid. In reality, Israeli forces have been providing aid to Palestinians but are meant with violence.
It is unlikely a port built in Gaza will do much good. Hamas is entrenched in the region, hiding in hospitals, schools, and apartments. Biden did not explain how he would ensure support would help people, not Hamas. Meanwhile, he is announcing support for a group that has vowed to destroy our ally Israel.
This decision might come to blow back hard on the Democrat.
