The administration is said to have proposed a draft U.N. Security Council resolution which in part would call for a temporary cease-fire and call on Israel not to go into Rafah in the Gaza Strip.

After progressives threatened Biden with not voting for him over Israel, the president is pushing a seemingly anti-Israel plan. The administration is reportedly going to champion a cease-fire plan before the UN. He also wants to stop Israel’s campaign in Rafah, which has helped the country defeat terrorists.

This sudden turnaround might be fueled by Biden’s fears over November. It does not appear that America nor Israel will gain anything from a cease-fire. Many experts have explained a cease-fire only benefits Hamas.

It could give them time to regain resources and momentum to attack Israel again. Even Hillary Clinton warned against a cease-fire. Yet Biden has been hit with repeated attacks from progressives, including college students, who continue to accuse Israel of “genocide.”
