Democrats have long claimed to be a party that defends women. In fact, they’ve previously demanded that we believe all women when they accuse a man of something, whether they have evidence to back up their claims or not.

That’s why the left’s hypocrisy has been on full display in the wake of Kamala Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff being accused of slapping an ex-girlfriend. Indeed, Democrats have been giving Emhoff a free pass and pretending that these chilling accusations against him don’t exist.

The radically liberal Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez showed this once again on Wednesday while speaking to a room full of students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. There, she fawned over Emhoff’s “masculinity” and “values.”

‘He’s not afraid to embody and pass on these values of security and this idea that you can, you can let your girl shine,’ she said. ‘And he embodies that really well. We should all be really, really proud of him.’

She told students gathered at the on-campus Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art that the example Emhoff has set ‘has been so important this presidential cycle.’

 AOC noted that there were plenty of ‘poor examples’ of ‘masculinity and men’ and ‘a lot of misogyny.’

‘A lot of ideas of what being a man means putting a woman down or putting queer people down,’ she continued. ‘And this idea that, like, in order to elevate one’s value, we need to diminish the people around you.’

Ocasio-Cortez went on to argue that this is “weakness” and “insecurity” instead of masculinity.

“But Doug really is the contrast – the second gentleman – is a real contrast to that,” she claimed. “He’s able to stand beside the vice president’s side and lift her up instead of put her down. And he knows that by lifting of women, he’s also lifting up his fellow men around him. He’s not afraid to be a dad of a powerful daughter and a great son.”

Disturbing Allegations Against Emhoff

This comes after an ex-girlfriend of Emhoff’s bravely came forward to claim that he slapped her back in 2012. Though she spoke on the condition of anonymity, the woman’s story was credible, as multiple friends of hers corroborated that she had told them of the incident at the time.

“In that moment, his mask had dropped and I saw his dark side,” she said of Emhoff.

Emhoff has denied ever slapping the woman. If he were a Republican, the mainstream media would be all over this story. Since he is a Democrat, however, it’s being swept under the rug. Clearly, Ocasio-Cortez is following suit by pretending as if this never happened.

There is simply no excuse for a man to ever slap a woman. Having a credible allegation of this kind against him shows that Emhoff is not the pillar of “masculinity” that Ocasio-Cortez and her fellow liberals want you to believe him to be. Despite this, they will likely continue to push this narrative for years if Harris wins this election.

The hypocrisy of the left never ceases to amaze.
