After Trump Wins Huge on Super Tuesday – The 2024 Election Gets 1 Big Shake-Up

This week we had Super Tuesday, the day in the primary calendar when many Americans went to the polls. Dozens of states held Republican primary elections. And millions of voters decided their choice to run for president.

It was expected that Joe Biden would win most of the Democrat delegates up for grabs. But some holdouts believed Nikki Haley would make a good enough showing to stay competitive in the GOP primaries. That did not turn out to be the case.

From Daily Wire:
Former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden each dominated their party’s respective primaries on Super Tuesday, moving closer to officially wrapping up the primary season as the two are set for a rematch this upcoming fall…

Trump reacted to his blowout victories across the country by calling it a “great evening” and saying that it was his “honor to represent not just the Republican Party but our country in leading it back to health and prosperity.”

Donald Trump won all but one state on Super Tuesday, securing an even stronger position as we move toward November. Nikki Haley only won Vermont, putting her well behind the former president. Despite all her previous claims that she was in it for the long haul, she suddenly made a shock move.

From Fox News:
Thirteen months after she launched her 2024 Republican presidential campaign in Charleston, South Carolina, Nikki Haley ended her White House bid.

The former two-term South Carolina governor who later served as U.N. ambassador in former President Donald Trump’s administration on Wednesday morning announced “the time has now come to suspend my campaign.”

Nikki Haley said she had no regrets when announcing the end of her presidential campaign. Perhaps one regret, that she didn’t win. While making her announcement, she failed to endorse Donald Trump—who is currently the best chance for the GOP to defeat Joe Biden.

Haley held out hope that she could gain on Trump after the South Carolina primaries. She had served two terms as the state’s governor. But she was crushed by Trump last month, dashing hopes she could mount a comeback. Despite that, she remained on the ballot going into Super Tuesday, spending time and resources on what ultimately was a failed campaign.

Soon after she quit, Trump issued a statement to her supporters, inviting them to join his team.

Key Takeaways:

  • Donald Trump dominated on Super Tuesday, expanding his primary lead.
  • Soon after the results came in, Nikki Haley suspended her presidential campaign.
  • Haley spent millions to run against Trump, only to lose.
