Democrat Leader Dan Goldman Makes False Trump Debate Claim, Get’s Fact-Checked on Live TV

We’re at the point where Democrats no longer seem to care about facts or truth. They have publicly spread claims that are easily debunked. And in many cases, even after they are proven wrong, they still spread those lies. They’ve been doing it for years over the Russia-Trump hoax. Even after investigations cleared Trump’s name, Democrats still say he colluded with Russia in 2016.

But that is only the tip of the iceberg of the kinds of falsehoods being spread by the left. The worst have come this year, as they scramble to save their 2024 chances.

They propped up an ailing man, Joe Biden, until he was forced to drop out. Now, they are pretending like they always wanted Kamala Harris, a woman they once called a drag on Biden’s campaign. Is there any lie they won’t spread to save their death grip on our government? One Democrat, Rep. Dan Goldman, tried to blatantly distort recent history to defend Kamala Harris. That’s when a media reporter had to fact-check him into oblivion.

From Daily Caller:
“Well, he’s accepted three,” Baier rebutted. “He’s said yes to September 4th, September 10th, September 17th. He’s said yes to a lot of them, so it’s not that he’s obviously afraid to debate…”

“No no no,” Goldman sputtered. “No no no, he had agreed to September 10th on ABC,” he countered…

“No, no, it’s fine, he said he would do it. I’m just saying he’s also agreed to other debates. You said he hasn’t agreed to others, he has. It’s the Kamala Harris campaign that hasn’t agreed on the other side,” Baier concluded.

A Bogus False Claim

It all started when Goldman, clearly revved up and ready to take on the world, confidently declared that former President Donald Trump was ducking debates with Vice President Kamala Harris. “If I’m Donald Trump, I understand why he doesn’t want to debate,” Goldman announced, likely expecting his assertion to go unchallenged.

But in the world of live news, facts have a funny way of catching up with you—especially when you’re facing a seasoned journalist like Baier. Without missing a beat, Baier delivered a swift rebuttal: “Well, he’s accepted three,” Baier replied, listing the dates that Trump had already agreed to. September 4th, September 10th, September 17th—debates galore, and Trump was on board for all of them.

Goldman, perhaps realizing he’d walked into a bit of a trap, began to sputter. “No no no,” he said, trying to salvage his original point. He insisted that Trump had only agreed to the September 10th debate on ABC. Baier, however, was having none of it.

“With Biden, who got pushed out,” Baier calmly reminded him. And here’s where things got a little bit delicious: Goldman, seemingly flustered, fired back, “What’s the difference? Why should he not debate whoever the candidate is on September 10th as he agreed to? What is the difference between candidate Biden and candidate Harris?”

Democrats Caught in Their Own Spin

It was a classic example of someone trying to dodge the fact that they’d just been caught in a falsehood. But Baier wasn’t going to let that slide. “No, no, it’s fine,” Baier said, with the kind of patience one reserves for a toddler who just can’t accept that bedtime is non-negotiable. “He said he would do it. I’m just saying he’s also agreed to other debates. You said he hasn’t agreed to others, he has. It’s the Kamala Harris campaign that hasn’t agreed on the other side.”

And just like that, the hammer dropped. The facts were out in the open, and Goldman’s attempt to paint Trump as a debate dodger had been thoroughly debunked. Both campaigns had agreed to the September 10th debate, but as Baier pointed out, Harris had been less forthcoming when it came to other proposed debates on Fox News and NBC.

In a world where political theater often takes center stage, it’s refreshing to see a good, old-fashioned fact-checking session play out in real-time. Goldman’s attempt to score points on live TV might have backfired, but at least it made for some riveting viewing. As the debates draw closer, one thing’s for sure: it’s going to be an interesting ride.

Key Takeaways:

  • Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman falsely claimed Trump hadn’t agreed to debates with Kamala Harris.
  • Bret Baier fact-checked him, revealing Trump had agreed to three debates.
  • Harris’s campaign only agreed to one debate, despite accusing Trump of dodging.
