This week marks the 22nd Anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Every year, Americans stop and remember that tragic day–and honor the lives lost and the heroes who sacrificed everything. For two decades, presidents have commemorated the day by visiting one of the sites of the attacks. But this year, Biden will not be in New York, Washington, or Pennsylvania.
Instead, he is stopping over in Alaska on his return flight from Asia. It is possible his staff forgot about 9/11 when they planned his Asian trip–and scrambled to put together something during his stopover. Fox News’ Peter Doocy demanded an answer for why Biden won’t visit one of the sites, as every other president has. This was the White House’s response.
From Trending Politics:
“When I asked a White House official why it is that President Biden was here and missing the 9/11 commemorations at the attack sites, the analogy that I was given is that 22 years after Pearl Harbor, U.S. presidents were not still going to visit Hawaii,” said Doocy.
More than a few Americans will be upset at this response. For decades, have visited Pearl Harbor. Perhaps not every year, but it is a common occurrence for presidents to remember those attacks in Hawaii. It will be hard for the White House to convince Americans it was not dismissing the nearly 3,000 lives lost on 9/11 with this apparently flippant response.
Meanwhile, what is Donald Trump doing on the 22nd Anniversary of 9/11?
Former President Donald Trump honored the thousands of Americans killed in the September 11, 2001, attacks at the hands of Islamic terrorists and praised the heroic first responders who sprung into action.
“No one who lived through the horror of the September 11 terrorist attacks can ever forget the agony and the anguish of that terrible day,” Trump said in a video shared to Truth Social Monday morning.
Although facing four indictments by Democrats and a grueling campaign schedule, Donald Trump took the time to release a statement on 9/11. Trump himself was personally involved in the rescue and recovery efforts after the attacks. According to reports, he paid for workers to dig through the rubble to find survivors. Thanks to him, five firefighters were rescued.
Trump used the day to honor and remember the lives taken, due to the cruelty of our enemies. Meanwhile, Biden and his staff are making excuses.
- The White House released a shocking response to why Biden skipped 9/11 events.
- Joe Biden will attend an event in Alaska, not at one of the sites of the attacks.
- Donald Trump issued a video statement honoring the fallen on the 22nd Anniversary.
