Americans used to be able to trust that professional sports existed outside the culture war. You bought your tickets, grabbed a hot dog, and watched the game. Baseball especially carried that promise. It was the one American institution that felt immune to the creeping ideological rot infecting everything else. Or so we thought.

Turns out, the people running these franchises don’t just disagree with your values. Some of them actively despise you for holding them. They discriminate against players who share your faith, harvest your personal data like you’re a product, and assume you’re too captive to do anything about it. And every once in a while, one of them is dumb enough to say it all on camera.

From Daily Caller:

O’Keefe Media Group has released a new undercover report revealing that Sean Hudson, who is the Washington Nationals’ Director of Community Relations, admits to discrimination against starting pitcher Trevor Williams because of his Catholic faith, digitally surveilling fans who attend Nationals Park, and having a communist agenda.

Talking about Williams, Hudson stated that “he is very Catholic,” noting that the Los Angeles Dodgers featured a drag group that was anti-Catholic during a Pride Night they hosted. The group, which calls itself “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence,” was criticized after wearing nun costumes and performing on a crucifix.

Read that again. Religious discrimination. Fan surveillance. A communist agenda. From the guy running community relations. You can’t make this up. And frankly, every single thing that follows should be treated as what it plainly is: a fireable offense.

Punished for being Catholic

Trevor Williams’ great sin — in Hudson’s eyes, anyway — was being publicly, unapologetically Catholic. When the Los Angeles Dodgers invited the “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence,” a drag group that mocks Catholic nuns and desecrates the crucifix, to their 2023 Pride Night, Williams had the audacity to object. On social media, he called it what it was: a targeted attack on his religion.

“Baseball stadiums should be a place where everyone feels welcomed, like 100%,” Williams told Bishop Robert Barron in 2025. “But that was clearly against one certain religion. If you don’t draw the line in the sand, who’s gonna do it?”

Hudson’s response was to erase him. “We don’t use him” on social media, he told the undercover journalist. Just like that — a professional athlete quietly blacklisted from his own team’s platforms because he defended his faith against public ridicule. Imagine for one second a player being silenced for defending Islam or Judaism. There’d be wall-to-wall cable news coverage and a congressional investigation by Thursday. But it was a Catholic, so nobody in that front office batted an eye. Hudson should have been terminated the moment this policy was implemented. Anyone who signed off on it should be right behind him.

A Marxist running America’s pastime

Hudson wasn’t exactly coy about his worldview, either. He volunteered — proudly, it seems — that he’s “very far-left leaning” and keeps a “join the Communist Party” poster hanging in his kitchen. Not exactly subtle décor.

He told the journalist he’d “love to find ways” to inject his ideology into baseball, pitching the concept of mandatory charitable donations triggered by home runs. His own description? “Communism, you know what I mean, that’s redistributing someone’s wealth.” And then, with zero self-awareness: “I hope we get there.”

A self-avowed communist steering community outreach for a Major League Baseball franchise. For anyone who lived through the Cold War — who watched that ideology enslave nations and murder tens of millions — this isn’t quirky. It’s disqualifying. Fire him.

“I don’t give a sh*t”

The contempt doesn’t stop at players. Hudson openly admitted the Nationals track fans who attend games, monitoring purchasing habits and browsing history through cookies, then sorting people into behavioral “buckets” to manipulate them with targeted content. Big Brother, brought to you by your local ballpark.

And if fans don’t appreciate the ideological direction? Hudson had a message for them: “If you’re a sports fan, and we pss you off, where else are you gonna go? Are you gonna drive past us from Virginia to go to Baltimore? … either way, I don’t give a sht.”

He also revealed the franchise hosts women-only and LGBTQ-only meetings, explicitly barring anyone who doesn’t “identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ population.” So much for inclusion.

According to emerging reports, Hudson has been placed on leave. That’s insufficient. Suspension is what organizations do when they’re hoping a scandal blows over quietly. This one shouldn’t. Hudson must be fired. Everyone who enabled the blacklisting of Trevor Williams, who participated in these exclusionary meetings, who treated fan data as a surveillance tool — they all need to answer for it.

Baseball belongs to the people in the stands, not ideologues with hammer-and-sickle décor. Hudson asked where angry fans would go. Here’s a thought, Sean: anywhere but Nationals Park. And good luck filling those seats when they do.

Key Takeaways

  • A Nationals executive admitted on camera to blacklisting pitcher Trevor Williams over his Catholic faith.
  • Sean Hudson openly identifies as a communist and wants to bring Marxist ideology into baseball.
  • The Nationals track fans’ browsing history and purchasing data, sorting them into behavioral profiles.
  • Placing Hudson on leave isn’t enough — he and everyone who enabled this discrimination must be fired.
