The Council on American-Islamic Relations’ California chapter, which pocketed a jaw-dropping $42.2 million to provide services to Afghan refugees.

CAIR insists all its funding is “fully reported, accounted for, and used strictly for their intended purposes.” Comforting words — if you ignore everything else on the ledger. Federal prosecutors named CAIR an unindicted co-conspirator in a criminal conspiracy to funnel money to Hamas. The FBI severed all contact with the organization over terrorism concerns. At least seven of its board and staff members have been arrested, indicted, or convicted on terrorism-related charges. And in 2004, CAIR settled a lawsuit while acknowledging that statements calling it a “terrorist supporting front organization” were accurate.

CAIR had plenty of company at the federal grant window. The Islamic Circle of North America’s humanitarian wing collected $10.6 million despite representing the American branch of an Islamist group connected to violence in South Asia. The Muslim American Society’s Sacramento chapter received $90,000 — never mind that a federal appeals court called MAS an “overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America.”

And then there’s Dar Al-Hirjah. A Northern Virginia mosque that received $340,000 in HHS sub-grants to promote coronavirus vaccines. This is the same mosque that helped two of the 9/11 hijackers find housing. Your public funds, directed to a mosque with a documented connection to the worst attack on American soil in modern history. That one should make your stomach turn.
