Popular Child Host Supports Radical Reparations Over Slavery and Jim Crow

For decades, the American Left has understood a brutal truth: whoever shapes the culture shapes the future. And no audience is more impressionable — or more valuable — than the very youngest. Children’s entertainment used to be a safe harbor. Toddlers learned their ABCs. Parents exhaled. Simple. Those days are disappearing, and most families haven’t noticed yet.

A growing number of children’s content creators are now leveraging the enormous trust parents place in them — trust earned one sing-along at a time — to smuggle progressive ideology into millions of homes. The latest example might be the most audacious we’ve seen. It didn’t come through a children’s video. It arrived via an Instagram post, delivered to a massive audience built entirely on toddler content.

From Breitbart:

Children’s YouTube and Netflix star Ms. Rachel has added support for reparations over slavery and Jim Crow Laws to her growing catalogue of left-wing causes, taking her latest stance via an Instagram post to her five million-plus followers.

Ms. Rachel, AKA Rachel Accurso, took an excerpt from Ta-Nehisi Coates’ 2014 essay The Case for Reparations to illustrate the need to “reckon” with America’s history of slavery.

A nursery rhyme empire goes political

Consider the math here. Rachel Accurso built a children’s media empire teaching toddlers to speak, sing, and learn. Parents across the country trusted her with something deeply personal: their children’s earliest moments of screen time. Over five million people followed her Instagram account — not for political commentary, but because she helped their two-year-old say new words.

Those same followers are now getting served Ta-Nehisi Coates quotes demanding America “reckon with our compounding moral debts.” Coates’ essay argued that “American prosperity was ill-gotten” and called for nothing less than a “revolution of the American consciousness.” Heavy stuff for an account called “msrachelforlittles.”

This isn’t educational content. It’s woke activism delivered through a megaphone built on nursery rhymes. And that distinction matters enormously.

Former Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg nailed it: “Whether it’s injecting division into domestic tragedies or spreading toxic, antisemitic rhetoric in her posts about the Middle East, she constantly pushes narrative over facts.”

A pattern, not an accident

The reparations post didn’t materialize out of thin air. It’s the latest escalation in a deliberate leftward march — and the trail is genuinely startling.

Last month, Ms. Rachel endorsed Denver congressional candidate Melat Kiros, a woman who publicly declared that 9/11 was “inevitable.” Chew on that endorsement for a moment. She’s also thrown her support behind a dozen Democratic candidates including former Rep. Cori Bush and Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. Before that, she joined notorious anti-Israel journalist Mehdi Hasan to defend her repeated echoing of Hamas talking points — shortly after the terror group murdered over 1,200 innocent Israelis on October 7, 2023.

She then injected race into the ongoing Nolan Wells investigation, declaring the case would have been handled differently “if Nolan Wells were White.”

Each episode reveals the same troubling reality. This isn’t a children’s entertainer occasionally sharing opinions. This is a progressive activist who happens to teach toddlers — and she’s using the audience those toddlers delivered to push wokeness on their parents.

The party of slavery wants a reckoning

Here’s the part that really stings about Ms. Rachel’s reparations advocacy — a detail neither she nor Coates seem eager to confront. The party demanding this national “reckoning” is the same one that created the sins being reckoned with.

Breitbart’s Jerome Hudson framed it perfectly: “The Democrat Party is the party of slavery. Thanks to the Democrats’ cartoonish clown car of presidential candidates, the party of slavery is now the party of reparations for slavery.”

Even former Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. acknowledged this openly, stating, “There is no doubt that the Democrat Party is the party of the Confederacy, historically, that the Democrat Party’s flag is the Confederate flag.” He noted that Jefferson Davis was a Democrat and that Southern secessionists “saw themselves as Democrats and were Democrats.”

Yet somehow, today’s progressives demand a national reckoning for sins their own political party committed — while the conservatives who fought to end those injustices get cast as the villains. The audacity would be impressive if it weren’t so thoroughly dishonest.

Protect what matters

One commenter on the New York Post’s coverage offered the most efficient verdict possible: “Stop calling her an entertainer — she is an indoctrinator.”

That word should stick. Especially for the grandparents reading this who have watched little ones light up at Ms. Rachel’s videos. The woman teaching your grandchild to say “please” and “thank you” is now telling millions of Americans they owe a debt they never incurred for sins they never committed. And she’s doing it on a platform your family helped build.

Families — not YouTube personalities — should shape a child’s understanding of the world. That’s always been a conservative principle. Given what’s streaming into living rooms these days, it’s never been more urgent.

Key Takeaways

  • Children’s star Ms. Rachel is exploiting her toddler-focused platform to push reparations and woke causes.
  • Her five million Instagram followers signed up for kids’ content, not progressive political activism.
  • Democrats built slavery and Jim Crow — now they demand reparations from everyone else.
  • Parents and grandparents must guard who influences their children’s worldview.
