What’s Happening:
Even in the heart of conservative America, radical leftists have infested communities. In the most heavily black large city in America, one far-left Democrat was elected mayor back in 2017.
He had big plans and made big promises. Chokwe Antar Lumumba (his real name) vowed to make Jackson, MS the most “radical city” on the planet.
But today, his Marxist utopia is more like a nightmare.
From Daily Caller:
He campaigned on plans to introduce universal basic income and alternatives to policing, to replace vacant lots with urban farms and to resolve chronic issues with the city’s water…
Instead, the city’s water problems have worsened, and Republican Gov. Tate Reeves declared a state of emergency Tuesday because running water is not reliably available nor safe for consumption.
Wow, this is bad.
Radical Democrat Chokwe Antar Lumumba easily won his race for mayor of Jackson, MS. He promised the large, black population that he’d turn Jackson into the “most radical” city in the world.
He vowed to introduce universal basic income, a major socialist goal. He also wanted “alternatives” to police, making him a member of the defund bandwagon.
On top of this, he had other ambitious goals, such as converting vacant lots into “urban farms” (who was going to run those) and fixing ongoing issues like water and roads.
But after a few years in office, Jackson doesn’t even have drinkable water.
The Republican governor had to issue a state of emergency after flooding contaminated the city’s drinking water supply.
This is a far cry from the dream city Lumumba was promising. Where are the urban farms? Where are the clean, paved roads?
If you can’t even figure out something as basic as clean drinking water, universal basic income should not be on your list.
Even third-world countries have found solutions to their drinking water problems. But this socialist in a major U.S. city can’t?
Perhaps he needs to go back to Civics 101?
Key Takeaways:
- Radical Democrat Mayor Lumumba vowed to make Jackson, MS “most radical” city in the world.
- He promised no police, free paychecks, and urban farms.
- A few years in, his city does not have clean drinking water.
