When federal officers face a 1,300% increase in assaults, a 3,300% surge in vehicle attacks, and an 8,000% explosion in death threats, we are not dealing with “peaceful protest.” We are witnessing an organized campaign of political violence—waged with encrypted communications, paramilitary training, and calculated brutality.

For years, this kind of coordinated aggression has metastasized in progressive-governed cities where local leadership treats law enforcement like the enemy. But this week, the federal government made it abundantly clear that tolerance for organized violence against officers has a shelf life—and it just expired.

From The Post Millennial:

The Department of Justice (DOJ) charged 15 individuals on Tuesday with conspiracy to impede or injure federal officers during the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation Metro Surge in Minneapolis. The defendants are members and associates of a Twin Cities Antifa cell network, prosecutors said.

US Attorney for Minnesota Daniel Rosen announced that the defendants are allegedly involved with Twin Cities Direct Action, later renamed Direct Action Minnesota, or “DAMN,” a collective that organizes anti-ICE operations across the Minneapolis area. The 94-page indictment alleges the cell trained extremists in surveillance, rapid mobilization, shield tactics, blockade operations, and methods designed to interfere with federal immigration enforcement.

Let that sink in for a moment. A 94-page federal indictment. Not against a drug cartel or a foreign espionage ring—against a domestic Antifa cell running paramilitary operations in an American city.

The details obliterate any remaining fiction that Antifa is just a loose collection of angry idealists. According to prosecutors, these defendants built a sophisticated infrastructure to stalk and confront federal agents. They deployed encrypted Signal chats and a surveillance system dubbed “Whipple Watch” to identify federal vehicles, tail agents from federal facilities, and relay real-time intelligence to militants ready to swarm on command. They purchased trailers and trucks specifically to overturn and weaponize as road blockades. They organized shield-building workshops using plastic, wood, and metal.

So much for “spontaneous grassroots activism.”

U.S. Attorney Rosen described an organization “dedicated to direct action against federal law and immigration enforcement” that “trains its members in the aggressive use of shields against law enforcement, surveillance, operational planning, and rapid mobilization.” That is not a protest. That is paramilitary coordination against the United States government.

When “protest” becomes violence

The individual charges are even more damning. Kyle Wagner (arrested while proudly sporting an “I’m Antifa!” sweatshirt) had gone viral, urging his followers to “get your f—king guns and stop these f—king people,” meaning federal agents. Charming. He now faces additional charges for solicitation to commit a crime of violence and interstate threats.

Then there is Natasha Rakotz, charged with assault on a federal officer after allegedly ramming her Honda Civic into a government vehicle. William Morgan allegedly kicked an agent’s car hard enough to leave visible dents and faces charges for assault and destruction of government property. Isaac Auman Sant contributed extremist material to CrimethInc, an Antifa publication, and faces interstate stalking charges.

These are not concerned citizens exercising their First Amendment rights. These are violent actors who chose to assault law enforcement officers doing their jobs.

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin was unequivocal: “We have ZERO tolerance for violence against our law enforcement. If you assault or obstruct law enforcement, you will face the consequences.”

A pattern that demands more action

Minneapolis is becoming a recurring showcase for what happens when progressive governance meets organized far-left militancy. The city still bears the scars of the 2020 BLM-Antifa riots, and the tactics deployed here—shields, blockades, coordinated ambushes—mirror what consumed Portland during that same catastrophic summer.

This indictment also follows the successful terrorism conviction of 16 Antifa members in North Texas earlier this year. A pattern is forming. The question is whether the federal government will sustain the pressure or let it fade.

Fifteen arrests are a necessary start. It cannot be the finish. Every American city where organized militants wage war on law enforcement deserves the same decisive federal response. The officers who strap on a badge every morning and enforce the laws of this nation deserve prosecutors who will fight for them just as hard. Order must be restored—and every violent radical who threatens it must answer for what they have done.

Key Takeaways

  • Fifteen Antifa-linked militants have been federally indicted for organized violence against ICE officers in Minneapolis.
  • The 94-page indictment reveals paramilitary-level coordination, including encrypted communications and surveillance networks.
  • Assaults on federal officers have surged over 1,300%, demanding sustained and decisive federal prosecution.
  • Blue cities that tolerate organized anti-law-enforcement violence need more federal intervention, not less.
