In a recent bit for his show, Bill Maher unveiled his “Halloween costume” this year. He was going as a woke leftist, complete with three face masks, a face shield, a check from the patriarchy to pay for his car insurance, and the stick up their b***.
Maher has become increasingly critical of the woke left and the liberal establishment. While still a loyal Democrat, he finds himself constantly at odds with the extreme views and decisions being made by the left.
In recent years, he’s criticized the liberal media over their response to COVID and lockdowns. He took issue with Democrats refusing to refer to the virus as the “Wuhan flu.” He is sharply critical of Joe Biden and many of his decisions. Even as leftists attack Maher, he appears undaunted in his views.
And it seems his audience shares his irritation with the radical left. They were roaring with laughter as he poked holes in some of the woke crowd’s most sacred cows. He made no friends with leftist snowflakes, but the success of the bit shows that even liberals are getting tired of the nonsense.
Could this be a sign of things to come? Will some Democrat voters break from the party next week, sending a message that they are not on board with CRT, defunding the police, radical socialism, and other things Biden is pushing?
Ordinarily, we’d say no. But there seems to be a growing group within the Democratic Party who, like Maher, are getting sick and tired of the idiocy.
