What’s Happening:
Recently, we’ve learned that a growing number of Biden’s own supporters don’t want him back for 2024. His dismal approval should be enough for the party to pull him.
But what about a possible Trump-Biden rematch? That is one of many possibilities, regardless of Biden’s approval.
But a new poll suggests many Americans don’t want to see either of them return to the Oval Office.
From Yahoo:
[A] plurality of registered voters now say it would be “the worst thing that could happen” if either President Biden (39%) or former President Donald Trump (41%) were to win the White House again in 2024, according to a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll…
Only about half as many voters say a second Trump term would be “the best thing that could happen” (22%). A mere 8% say the same about a second Biden term.
A new Yahoo poll asked 1,557 U.S. adults what they thought about either Trump or Biden returning to the White House.
And, according to the liberal outlet, a plurality of those asked said it would be the “worst thing” if either president returned.
Only 22% of those asked wanted Trump back. And a pathetic 8% said they wanted Joe Biden to return.
It’s important to keep in mind this poll did not ask only registered or likely voters, only “U.S. adults.”
The poll was also “weighted” according to gender, age, race, and education. This suggests that the liberal outlet finessed the results a bit, to get the desired outcome.
We can’t be sure about all that. But this poll does tell us something about America’s attitude toward both these men.
Very few want Biden to come back, for obvious reasons. They blame him for the many crises that are hurting our country. Perhaps many also worry about Joe Biden’s failing health and mental state.
As for Trump, his presidency was marked by a strong economic boom—even post-lockdown. But it was also mired by endless controversy stirred up by a liberal media gunning for him.
Many Americans seem to consider Trump a divisive figure that pits people against each other. Some even voted for Biden, hoping he could unify the country—some he hasn’t once tried to do.
So, what could be the solution? It’s clear that some Republicans support Donald Trump’s return.
His endorsement continues to be the deciding factor in many GOP primaries. But does the rest of the country agree?
Yes, most independents (and many Democrats) don’t want Biden to come back. But will they vote for a second Trump term?
Or are there better candidates to replace our aging past and present presidents?
I guess we’ll have to wait and find out.
Key Takeaways:
- A new Yahoo poll revealed most Americans don’t want Trump or Biden back.
- The poll asked “U.S. adults,” not necessarily registered or likely voters.
- This comes as Biden suffers low approval, yet still seeks a second term.
